Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data the benibot Discord application ("the Bot", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and your choices. By adding the Bot to a server or using its commands, you agree to this policy. The Bot is built on Red-DiscordBot and is self-hosted by the operator.

1. What we collect

The Bot only stores the minimum needed for its features to work. Depending on which features a server enables, this may include:

• Discord identifiers — user IDs, server (guild) IDs, channel IDs, role IDs, and message IDs.
• Activity counters — experience points (XP), levels, and the timestamp of your most recent counted message (used to apply an anti-spam cooldown for leveling).
• Content you explicitly submit to the Bot — for example quotes you save, your birthday (month and day), reminder text, highlight keywords, marriage relationships, and reputation given/received.
• Server configuration — settings chosen by server admins, such as announcement channels, roles, and feature toggles.
• Moderation data (only if moderation features are enabled by a server) — moderation actions, reasons, and related logs, as provided by Red-DiscordBot and community modules.

2. Message content

The Bot reads message content in order to detect and respond to commands and to count messages for the leveling feature. The Bot does not archive, sell, or use your messages to train any model. It does not store the text of ordinary messages — only the content you explicitly pass to a command (e.g. a quote you save) is retained.

3. How we use data

• To provide and operate the Bot's features (leveling, social/engagement commands, moderation, utilities, and configuration).
• To remember your preferences and your server's settings between sessions.
• To prevent abuse (e.g. command cooldowns and anti-spam logic).

We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it for automated profiling beyond the in-server features described above.

4. Third-party services

To deliver certain features, limited data may be sent to third parties:

• Discord — the Bot operates on Discord and is subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
• waifu.pics — when you use social interaction commands (e.g. kiss, pat, cuddle), the Bot requests a random SFW image from api.waifu.pics. Only the chosen action is sent; no personal data is transmitted.
• Music sources — if music playback is enabled, search terms or links you provide are sent to the configured audio source to fetch tracks.

5. Storage and security

Data is stored in a database controlled by the Bot operator (a PostgreSQL database) and/or on the operator's server storage. We take reasonable measures to protect this data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Data retention and deletion

Data is retained for as long as the Bot is in your server or until it is deleted. You may request deletion of your data at any time:

• Many per-user items can be cleared with the Bot's own commands (for example, removing your saved birthday or quotes).
• Red-DiscordBot's data request and deletion mechanisms apply; a server owner or the Bot operator can remove stored data on request.
• To request full deletion, contact us using the details below, or remove the Bot from your server.

7. Children

The Bot is not directed to children under the minimum age required to use Discord in their country (at least 13). Do not use the Bot if you are under that age.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance.
